Unpredictable, chaotic, impartial, unconcerned, and uncaring- life has always played by its own set of rules. You just are stringed puppets dancing to the tunes of elusive time and boundless space. It has by far always played dice with the genus of species ape called homo-sapien, drastically altering their life and history enveloping them. Time and again in this tableau of life- famous characters have often popped up whose changed lives have caused ripples and spikes in the world around them.
Alone, desperate, bullets whirring past him, in the blood and grime of 1965 war, with the whole Khem Kharan devoid of a living Indian except him, Young Kisan Baburao Hazare pondered upon the meaning of life and death as his comrades laid dead. From Kisan Baburao Hazare he became Anna Hazare, Gandhian and satyagrahi- he became a force field that pulled the country out of lull and laze into the buzz of revolution against corruption.
A 23 year old traveling enthusiast Che Guevara decided to tour around South America on a motor-cycle, not knowing what was in store for him. Extremely anguished by harsh and impoverished life of indigenous peasantry, he became the Iconic Marxist alongside the hotshots like Fidel Castro.
A ripple transforms into a revolution, a tit-bit into a technological wonder. Henry, a farmer by profession was extremely aggrieved by his dear mother’s death. He left home, empty inside- feeling his way through oil and dirt, sweat and grease as he crafted on to perfection the art of making assembly lined model T-Ford. From a rural peasant he became the automobile giant.
From the dark days of Stalin’s Russia, where all men were equal but some more equal than others- distraught, agonized and unyielding Ayn Rand unleashed her pent-up anger in the two greatest books of her times defining Objectivism and The American Way of Life.
When death is lurking around, hobnobbing at every nook and cranny- even the most fearless become afraid. Lance Armstrong was made of stronger stuff. Cancer changed his way of life but not his determination. He wrested death and delayed the doomsday by rigorous cycling. Not only was he completely cured of the disease, he became an inspirational figure for the entire world.
His future looked bleak. Even after clearing the JEE exam with flying colours he wasn’t able to enroll in any of the IITs due to poor financial circumstances. Narayan Murthy was extremely dejected but with determination, passion and zeal he grew up better and bigger than any others of his time. INFOSYS acts as a beacon for India’s boosting economy.
Life is a maze- it has its store of unexpected twists and turns, it’s up to you how you bolster up your courage and face your plight. It’s your choices which decide what you are, not your circumstance- be it Buddha or M.K. Gandhi. You have the power to turn a setback into high-peak. Never ever give up. As Harry Lauder once said
‘Keep right on to the end of the road,
Keep right on to the end,
Tho’ the way be long, let your heart be strong,
Keep right on round the bend.’
