My Mom tells me a Story!

1.1

‘Mom, tell me a story!’

‘Which one, dear? I have told you many.’

‘You know mom! About that Captain you think is zany!’

‘Oh, I get it. Is it about

That Dwarvian lord who mined the Oort cloud?’

‘No mom, about the one who braved the Horizon,

And travelled through the tunnel that hasn’t seen the dawn.’

‘Oh boy! Are you talking about those deep dark Martian caves?

Diamonds, Gold, Jewels that it gave!’

‘No, no mom, you are getting it all wrong!

Black Holes it has – MOM, IT’S MY FAVORITE SONG!’

‘Sorry dear, my brain is filled with salt water,

That I couldn’t remember the tale that has Captain Potter.’

‘Yes yes, tell me about Harry Potter and Voldemort,

And the black hole through which they teleport!’

‘Oh dear, don’t take his name, it’s a taboo,

The world cowers and calls him ‘You Know Who’.’

‘Mommy dear, don’t fear the name,

It will give Voldemort undue publicity and fame!’

‘My brave dear son, I will do as you say,

And recount you the tale that makes you happy and gay.’

1.2

(Clears the throat) ‘So where do I begin?’

‘Mom, at the beginning!!’

‘Okay, but first of all, dear fellow,

Lay your head on this fluffy pillow.

We are to embark on a journey through infinite, get set!

Close your eyes and imagine, my pet.

Once upon a time there lived a boy…………’

1.3

‘Once upon a time there lived a boy,

Named Harry Potter, he knew no joy.

On the drab surface of the moon he reside,

With his uncle and aunt, his life they preside.

Now Mr. and Mrs. Dursley weren’t very kind,

He was forced to work early, with heavy rocks to grind.

His little hands couldn’t muster,

The strength to operate heavy machinery, which gave him, blisters.

Each night he would sob,

And complain to God, ‘Why did he, his parents, rob?’

to be continued…..
