Diary of a Wimpy Kid – The Third Wheel /Book Review

The Third Wheel (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, #7)The Third Wheel by Jeff Kinney

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I just hacked a book in 2 hours at Crossword. And, this was my first Wimpy Kid book, and boy, I loved it!! And do I feel guilty reading a kid’s book? Not at all. After all the way I behave, people around me start thinking whether I am a overgrown kid or a loony toon straight from the nut house.

That’s not to say, all those grown-ups who take guilty pleasure in reading Wimpy Kid books are as mad as me. And I really now know, why kids rave about this particular wimpy kid, Greg Heffley. This book indeed got me laughing at every other line and at another crazy doodle. Inspite of my not studying in an American school (a dangerous place, now-a-days), I was able to relate to many of the incidents mentioned in the book, really, it seemed to be cut out from my own memories of school or rather what my brother is going through right now during his schooling. Indeed, my brother still receives what has once been worn by yours truly, Me, Myself…!! It was indeed pleasurable reading.

So now I stick Jeff Kinney along with Roald Dahl on my memory-wall of honor as the best writers of fiction for children.

P.S.: If you are reading this book please ensure that no one is around you. Because, let me assure you, you are going to suffer from bouts of incessant laughter, and if you don’t take this statutory warning seriously, you would indeed end up being branded as delusional and not-quite-right-in-mind like me….!
