Dear Mr. Common Man (of India!), hear my plea,

I know that I am pretty much unwanted in your country, poor me.

But I suppose you well know my charms,

Low Prices – always”: rather it be toothbrushes, fancy dresses or fresh grocery from the farms.

Maybe Walmart strikes fear in your heart,

But let this bit of data clear the cloudy vague negativity like a fast whirring dart.

Surely I am the biggest retailer on the Earth,

Yet I employ a gigantic workforce of over 2100000, of human resource I have no dearth!

A dash of history may do you good,

Maybe even melt your heart and swing you into sentimental mood.

My founder was Mr. Sam Walton, as you know,

Even before Walmart, there happened to be a retail store that he had to forego.

A money churning Ben Franklin was the shop,

Which he transformed from six-pence-nothing to a one that was six-state region hot!

But poor him, his landlord had devious plans,

To have the golden egg all for himself; kicking out the strapping young man.

Inspite of being kicked hard at his shins, Sam was the goose that gave gold,

And so he created me, out of the sweat of his brow.

Spread over 15 countries and with 8500 stores,

Walmart is now a successful empire worth crores and crores.

I of course, believe that Consumer is the King,

Though the kirana stores have no need to fear a thing.

Competition breeds efficiency, and efficiency breeds fiscal control,

The country on the whole prospers, as the economy is on the roll.

Middlemen we remove and we bring profit to the farmers,

Top quality we ensure and we weed out exploiters and plunderers.

I must thank Vismay for rendering me in a poetic form,

So just keep reading http://www.iamalienman.wordpress.com.
