The first time I read the book, I could be no means understand it’s content. Afterall I was in eighth grade. I was just beginning to get sucked in the vortex of happy reading, when I pounced upon this book and obstinately determined, if my dad could read it, so could I, I decided to give it a do. It was good. I do acknowledge I did not understand the artsy parts- but I think I understood the basic skeleton (plot) of the story. Well, I like most other books I generally read, I had an inner desire (still have) to complete the book in one go. So it always happens that initially you give attention to the details, but afterwards in lieu to know the end you first began skipping words, then lines, then whole paragraphs, then straight jumping to the end.
I did exactly that. But still it didn’t stop me from boasting around to my friends that I read Angels and Demons by Dan Brown- an author they didn’t even knew existed as Pokemon , Bayblade and Harry Potter still held our attention.
Now, it seems, as if eons of years have passed- yesterday at a cousin’s house I once again come across Angels and Demons- having nothing better to do than watching Doraemon, I picked it up- trying to freshen up old memories.
I was hooked, this time I had better vocabulary (still not great!), better understanding of War and Peace, of Religion and Politics, of Science and CERN- I truly enjoyed it. The intricate world carved out by Mr. Brown- giving life to rusted skeletons of history and making a mind boggling, action packed, nerve touting and a brainy thriller out of it.
Robert Langdon- on his first ever mission to save the world from a dangerous satanic cult that had seemed to resurface- vengeance filled in their hearts against Christiandom, against all religions in the world that have oppressed them for so long. Illuminati (the cult) tracing back to Galileo had been biding time and when they came up with a bang, Vatican City is held hostage, it’s pope rumoured to be murdered, the four preferati kidnapped and a dangerous weapon out there, lurking in some dark alley of the Holy City-threatening to annihilate the city.
It is all left upto Robert Langdon, a Harvard symbiologist and expert on Illuminati- to get the one responsible behind all this- guided by artists, churhes and angels- Robert traces upon the ancient path of Illumination in order to save the Papal existence. With unexpected twists and turns- this one is a sure bet to get you charged up.

To all those who might have read it (mostly everyone), I beseech you to dust up your cupboard and get this one out again- it’s indeed a sure shot to make your day…..
